Florian Rapp

PERSONAL STATEMENT

My name is Florian Rapp, and I am a student at Lake Brantley High School in Longwood, Florida. I will graduate in 2027.

I am honored to play center back for the Orlando City Seminole 2009 MLS Next Team, which I joined in 2023 under the direction of Paul Shaw. Recently, I was recognized by my coaches and invited to play on the 2023 MLS Next Fest East All Star team. It was a valuable experience; I enjoyed it immensely and grew as a player.

My goal is to play soccer long-term, so I prioritize becoming a stronger athlete, soccer player, and student. I balance academics and training to be my best in both areas with integrity and consistency. Whether proficient or in need of improvement, I ask for guidance from teachers and coaches. I also understand the importance of both individual and team strength, and I strive to make a positive influence on my team. I do this each day by showing respect while encouraging my teammates and leading with my actions both on and off of the pitch. My soccer evaluations attest that my game intelligence and awareness is exemplary, and I actively communicate on the field. Previous coaches, including Giles Barnes and Vincenzo Amarante, stated that even if I am not a captain, I behave as one. Last season, I scored 2 first-time volleys, 3 headers, and one free kick and successfully produced 5 assists.

I am a diligent worker and have continued to improve my 1v1 defending, running with the ball, heading, tackling, and potential understanding (both in and out of possession), which are my strengths. During the past two summers, I trained extensively with Christian Eissele, who also invited me to attend his college sessions.

When I graduate from high school and beyond, I want to be known as an effective leader, excellent team player, and student.
